The children at the Open Arms Village celebrated their first Christmas together as a family.

The Open Arms Kenya community joined together to celebrate Christmas, including our two families living at the Village, assistant house parents, Open Arms Kenya office staff, and our welfar officers and their families. They had a goat roast, which is a traditional meal to celebrate very special occasions in Kenya. This was the first time most of our children had ever received a Christmas gift; they were each given traditional Kenyan outfits made especially for them.

Renee, a volunteer from Canada working long-term in the Kenya office (who had the honour of eating goat intestines for the very first time - yum!), made 'stockings' for each of the children. Since she couldn't find stockings in Eldoret, Renee decorated paper bags and filled them with little gifts, such as an orange, sweets, and a book.

The children were thrilled with their gifts, and enjoyed the festive celebration with family and friends. Thank you for making their first Christmas in a safe and loving environment possible!
