First Annual Jigger Digger in Eldoret!

The first week of November 2008, Open Arms International had its first JIGGER DIGGER!

That's right, in the Kambi Teso slum in Eldoret, we fumigated the 27 homes that our 100 children in our feeding programme live in. Their homes were infested with jiggers, which are fleas that burrow into feet and legs. We also dug out the jiggers from the feet of the children and their parents, giving them antibiotics, Tetanus injections, and wound care. To finish it all off, we purchased a new mattress, along with socks and shoes, for each of the children to prevent them from getting jiggers again.

The cost of fumigating a home: £15

The cost of "de-jiggering" a person (medication, new mattress, socks, and shoes): £30

You can choose to fumigate a home or de-jigger a person, or you can sponsor both for £45.
