Wow! What a day.
Shields, swords, and armour all over the place as the philistines and Israelites prepare to fight.
We finished off the drama we created yesterday, refined it and also started to work on the music. The rest of the groups finished off their projects, there were cakes, bracelet, Christmas decorations, Christmas cards, beehives and avocado tree plants.
The children had so much fun and as a result so did we.
Doing the music and drama, not only was it their first performance, but they took direction really well and were able to bring everything all together in time for the dragons showcase in the afternoon. The kids presented all the facts and figures about their material and production costs to the dragons and all of them were able to ‘sell’ their products and make a profit which will go back into the social enterprise club.
There are some talented singers in there and naturally expressive characters that made for a really fun, imaginative play. The other groups made some amazing items, they had fun and learnt some new skills. We hope that in the future we will have helped shape the new generation of Kenyan business owners.
I want to thank everyone involved for giving me the opportunity to give what I can to help these children.
It truly is better to give than to receive.
