Looking for kids to sponsor?

You may have noticed that we don’t talk a lot about child sponsorship here at Open Arms International.

Why not? We’re glad you asked!

We do sponsorship a little differently

We love the children in our care deeply, and we know you do too. That’s why we’re always asking, “What’s best for these kids?”

In response to that question, we don't match children directly to sponsors. Instead, we set up all sponsor as Champions of Hope for all the children who call Open Arms Village home!

We do this for many reasons. Here are just a few:

  1. Child Protection – Because Open Arms Village is easy to locate, we want to put less personal information about our children on the internet. This includes their photos, names, ages, and other identifying details. We also want to give our children the opportunity to decide if, when, and how they share their own stories. In our increasingly digital age, protecting every child’s privacy and identity is a big priority.

  2. Wise Stewardship – In 2019, Kenya passed new legislation that encourages organizations like Open Arms to pursue reunification with a child’s biological family whenever safe and possible. These are positive, exciting changes! Our sponsorship model streamlines administration to lower costs and allow our staff to focus on providing the best care possible for the children in our care.

Your support provides food, shelter, clothing, medication, education, and a family for a child at Open Arms Village.

You are changing the life of a child!

While child sponsorship might look a little different with Open Arms International, you can be sure that we are committed to providing the best possible care for every single child who calls the Village home.
